Newsroom
Dear Southern Health Members:
Our contract with Southern Health expires April 1, 2012. While we hope to reach a new agreement before then, that may not occur.
As a result, we urge you to check with Southern Health about how this might affect your financial responsibility to us for services provided after April 1. Under some circumstances, you could be held responsible for making full payment to us for services you receive after that date.
If you are a Southern Health member who is in an active course of treatment at one of our affected facilities, and those services are expected to continue beyond March 31, you should contact the Coventry Health Care Preauthorization Department to request authorization to continue treatment beyond that date. Examples include second or third trimester pregnancies, chemotherapy, and certain kinds of follow-up care, among others.
At HCA Virginia, we highly value our relationship with Southern Health members, and we deeply appreciate the trust you have placed in us in the past. We regret any uncertainty this situation may be causing. While we hope to reach a new agreement that enables us to continue serving your health care needs after April 1, we want you to be fully informed of matters as they stand today. Thank you.
