Rehabilitation Services

Getting The Help You Need...
You might need us for any number of reasons. You're recovering from a heart attack. You were injured in an accident. Whatever the reason, you have one thing in common with everyone who comes here: you need help getting better.

You've Come To The Right Place...
John Randolph Medical Center offers a complete range of rehab services and programs. Our team of rehabilitation experts provides accomplished and supportive care.

We offer inpatient therapy, outpatient programs and therapy, cardiac rehab, and many other services.

Communication Is Key...
Truly compassionate care begins with effective communication. It's a priority for us. Patients, their families and the people who care for them are all involved in setting goals and establishing treatment plans. Your doctor is also a continuing part of the picture. We send progress notes, and discharge summaries to referring physicians so they can track your recovery right along with you.

Staffing Excellence

Our medical staff is comprised of highly trained, experienced professionals. They work exclusively with rehab patients and are skilled at meeting their clinical and emotional needs.

Getting To Your Goal...
For some, getting better means returning to work or regaining independence. For others, it is a matter of recovering strength or function after surgery or an accident. Still others need the support of people who have gone through just what they're experiencing.

No matter what you need, our rehab professionals are ready to help you reach your goals.

Inpatient Therapy

Licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide up to seven days of acute coverage.

Outpatient Therapy

Our efforts here support doctors in nearly every clinical area: orthopedics, the neurosciences, cardiology, rheumatology, and primary care.

If you've been through total joint replacement, stroke, heart attack, mastectomy, serious burns or wounds, arthritis, or another condition that reduces your physical abilities, these services are for you.

Cardiac Rehab

John Randolph is in the business of healthy hearts. Our focus is on diagnosing heart disease at its earliest stages, treating it (with breakthrough technology if appropriate), and providing comprehensive rehabilitation programs.

The program is run by experienced registered nurses, physicial therapists and Exercise Physiologists who have specialized training and expertise in Cardiac Care.

While our capabilities are advanced, our philosophy is old-fashioned. We provide inpatient and outpatient programs to help you return to an active, productive life. Supervised exercise programs, peer support and education (including nutrition counseling and stress management) are all part of our total program for you.

Pulmonary Rehab

If you have chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, COPD or another significant lung problem, we're here to help. You'll learn about breathing retraining, nutrition, medication, energy conservation, and infection control. Then we'll develop an exercise program specifically for you to help build up your strength and endurance.

Work Re-Entry

When you're laid up, the only thing you can think about is getting back on the job. We can help. John Randolph Medical Center offers work hardening and conditioning programs that will return you to work just as soon as possible. We emphasize early medical intervention, objective documentation, and timely communication with your employer. We'll even provide worksite evaluations, education, and prevention programs.

Hand, Arm & Shoulder Therapy

Treating hand, arm, and shoulder problems is a complex task. Our physical and occupational therapists specialize in this type of care. They'll provide whatever therapy you need, including customized splinting.

Lymphedema

Rehab Staff have undergone specialty training to assist patients in the management of chronic swelling that occurs with this conditon. Education can be provided to decrease the risk factors that are associated with lymphedema.

Occupational Therapy

The practice of Occupational Therapy is directed toward restoration of the cognitive function and fine movement skills required for everyday living. Occupational therapists also assist return to the work environment whether you've been injured or suffered through an illness such as a stroke.

Speech Therapy

Communication is vital to the quality of life. There are many possible reasons why you or someone you know is not able to speak clearly or communicate well. A speech language pathologist can help determine the background to the condition as well as assist with recovery.
